The reading period for our Summer 2008 issue, with guest editor Nicky Beer, has ended. Thanks to all who submitted. We will re-open to submissions in the fall. Have a great summer.

Submissions are accepted only online via our Submission Manager.  Submissions received via email will be returned unread. Submissions received via post will be returned only if sufficient return postage is included, and may take several months.

 

Submission Guidelines

New Madrid is published twice per year, during the July and January residencies of Murray State University's low-residency MFA Program. The editors invite submissions of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Special issues will be announced on this website. All submissions must be sent via our Submission Manager.

Simultaneous submissions will be accepted with the request that editors be informed if first publication rights are no longer obtainable. Please allow 3 to 6 months for response time.
